Why Do Lean Office?

When you partner accounting, IT, HR, R&D, and other office functional processes with lean manufacturing or other lean operations, you will:
  • Gain more visual, timely, and accurate information flow and reporting.
  • Raise efficiencies for employee services.
  • Create a lean enterprise fully oriented to customer demand, respect for each other, and engaged with continuous process improvement.
Your customers and your bottom line will be thrilled!

Today world-class companies are applying lean principles to eliminate the unseen waste throughout the organization. Lean is the least costly, most thorough, and fastest means to raise productivity.
In the early 90s, our founder, Jean Cunningham, dove deeply into the lean manufacturing environment being created at her company. She couldn't understand why these same lean concepts were not being applied to other parts of the company. Over the next several years as CFO, Jean participated and promoted the use of kaizen events to create lean centric processes throughout the enterprise.

These efforts eventually affected every process and employee in the company. In every case—that's every single kaizen through every department in a company that was already well known for quality and innovation—the application of lean principles proved successful in eliminating waste, improving process flow, and improving the bottom line.
"Hidden problems are the ones that become serious threats eventually. If problems are revealed for everybody to see, I will feel reassured. Because once problems have been visualized, even if our people didn’t notice them earlier, they will rack their brains to find solutions to them."
— Katsuaki Watanabe, former Toyota President
